Matt Wallace, M.A.
I have a deep care for others and I enjoy supporting the individuals and groups I get to work with at Equip. My approach is a relational one that works to build trust and connection. I then use that relational approach as well as cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients grow in their relationships, their emotional regulation, and their social skills.
I am a registered Psychological Associate working toward licensure as a psychologist and am being supervised by Dr. Thomas Duke (PSY28069) at Equip. I am an advanced doctoral student near the completion of my doctorate in clinical psychology, and I have a masters degree in psychology as well. I have multiple years of experience conducting both short- and long-term therapy with children, teenagers, and adults working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, neurocognitive disorders, and development issues. I have also provided neuropsychological assessment evaluating various disorders such as ASD, ADHD, and executive function issues. I am also training at UCLA Semel in evaluating pre- and post-surgical assessment for various neurological issues. At Equip, I provide individual therapy to both adults and children, and I also lead the Dungeons & Dragons social skills groups. There I combine my therapeutic knowledge with multiple years of experience with D&D to provide a holistic, educational, healing, and most importantly, fun therapeutic experience for the children and teens I work with.
