Neda Petz, Psy.D.
I specialize in neuropsychological and developmental assessments of children, teens, and young adults. I understand how exasperating it can be to pinpoint the cause of struggles at school because of the intertwining academic, social, and emotional factors at play. While not a miracle cure, the purpose of each assessment is to identify a clear cause for a client's difficulties as well as to provide a blueprint to build upon strengths and provide support for future growth.
I have held assessment positions in hospital, school, and community health organizations. My experiences include conducting Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability evaluations for the Regional Center, as well as neuropsychological assessments of pediatric traumatic brain injury, sports related concussions, chronic health conditions, and pre- and post-surgical assessments for epilepsy and neuro-oncology patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I have also provided school-based interventions in the Alhambra Unified School District and completed neurodevelopmental evaluations for learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD at Kaiser Permanente and within a private practice setting.
I also provide psychotherapy to children and adolescents, having trained at Tarzana Treatment Center's Youth Outpatient program for an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship.
I am fluent in Farsi and have an undergraduate training in Fine Arts, which has found its way into my clinical practice as a way to engage children's cognitive and sensorimotor abilities, to nurture resilience, build insight, and cultivate social skills. I live in the Eagle Rock area with my husband, daughter, and two cats. I am a registered Psychological Assistant supervised by Dr. Thomas Duke and plan to complete licensure as a Psychologist by mid-2021.
